The Importance Of Knowing Your Reason “WHY” You Do What You Do…

One of the most important exercises you can do as you begin a new business, ministry, or career (or even a new season, quarter or year) is to identify your “Reason Why”. What is driving you emotionally to develop success? Your “why” is your long term vision for success .

Let me ask you a few questions: If time and money were no issue, how would your life look? Where would you live? What would you drive? What would you do with your time? Would you have any debt? In other words, what will a successful business or career do for your life, your family’s life, and your lifestyle?

I want you to clearly write down why you are doing what you do. The more specific, the more powerful it will be! Make it compelling so it causes you to find the time, face your fears, and persevere!

Phil and Sarah Robbins

As seen in Style Me PrettyFrom VLD Events (our event planner extraordinaire)…

Sarah and Phil Robbins joked that they had the worst wedding possible when they got married 10 years ago. They were 20 years old, they had very little money, and let’s just say that everything that could go wrong did. Dress got covered in tar on the way to the church – someone even ate their wedding cake in the freezer before their 1st anniversary. They laughed it off, but once their 10 year anniversary came around, they wanted a re-do. It was time to celebrate how far they’ve come together, and with their closest family and friends.

To do this, we enlisted a wonderful team of vendors. We wanted to mix luxury and comfort. Sarah is a true girly girl – she loves chandeliers, beautiful blooms, acrylic, fun patterns, and silk fabric. But at the same time she is incredibly down to earth and far from stuffy. This wasn’t going to be a party that no one felt comfortable at. This was going to be the kind of event you take your shoes off for and dance until the wee hours.

It was the kind of event you are seated in ghost chairs, but are served Mediterranean food. The kind of event that that has an awesome lakefront bonfire and a s’mores station. Not only that, this is kind of event that everyone could feel good about – because it wasn’t just to celebration two people in love and the ones they love; it was also to raise money for a cause they both so strongly believe in – Angel House (building orphanages in India).

Life is About the People We Love & Creating Memories We’ll Never Forget…

My sisters are my best friends—and the best things in life are the memories we create and experiences we share with each other! For each of our “big birthdays” we take a trip, and create lasting memories with one another.

For my sister Katie’s 30th birthday we surprised her with a sisters makeover/photo-shoot (photos by Jessica at http://jessicahanning.com).

We then celebrated some more at a weekend getaway in our favorite city—CHICAGO!

I’m so blessed to have sisters who are my BEST friends!
